The Hot Shot Soccer Program is for boys and girls ages 3-12 who want to have fun playing soccer, regardless of their skill. A brief overview of each program is available below. Games will be played week nights and Saturdays at the Rocky Mount Sport Complex Soccer fields. This program is designed to be a fun and enjoyable experience for all!
U4 Hot Shot Soccer League
The U4 league is for youth ages 3 and 4 (as of August 1, 2009). This league focuses on non-competitive, learn-through-play skills development. Teams will play on Saturday mornings. FUN based learning is our focus and parents are encouraged to become coaches or assistant coaches. This age group uses a size #3 soccer ball.
U6 Hot Shot Soccer League
The U6 league is for youth ages 5 and 6 (as of August 1, 2009). This league introduces players to the concepts of small-sided games. Teams will attend a scheduled practice/game weeknights and/or Saturdays. The first 30 minutes will be a practice time. The second 30 minutes will be a full game with the coaches refereeing. No scores will be kept. This group uses a size #3 soccer ball.
U8 Hot Shot Soccer League
The U8 league is for youth ages 7 and 8 (as of August 1, 2009). This league adds the element of friendly inter-term competitions, 5 V 5 with goalkeepers. Teams hold a practice one evening a week (scheduled by the coaches) and play officiated games week nights and/or on Saturdays. Each player will go through the skills evaluation held by the Athletics Division in February and placed on a team, to ultimately provide a balanced played field for all our soccer players. FUN based learning is still our primary focus; however basic technical aspects of the game are introduced throughout the training. This age group uses a size #3 ball.
U10 Hot Shot Soccer League
The U10 Soccer league is for youth ages 9 and 10 (as of August 1, 2009). This league expands to 6 V 6 with a goalkeeper. Moderately competitive, these teams attend a practice session (scheduled by the coach) and a game week nights and/or on Saturdays. We strive to balance FUN and development from a technical and tactical standpoint with this age group. This age group uses a size #4 soccer ball.
U12 Hot Shot Soccer League
The U12 Soccer league is for youth ages 11 and 12 (as of August 1, 2009). This league expands to 8 V 8 with a goalkeeper. Moderately competitive, these teams attend a practice session (scheduled by the coach) and a game week nights and/or on Saturdays. We strive to balance FUN and continue development from a technical and tactical standpoint with this age group. This age group uses a size #4 soccer ball.
